A family prepares for the arrival of a baby girl who will be "different" because of her unique chromosomal diagnosis. While gently preparing themselves for the physical challenges that their baby may have, they also are reminded that no matter what happens, their baby is special and loved. This book not only ministers to children who may have a hard time understanding the facts about Trisomy 18, but also to their parents and loved ones who may be shocked and grieving following an unexpected diagnosis.

A family prepares for the arrival of a baby boy who will be "different" because of his unique chromosomal diagnosis.

This is the story of one woman's personal journey in marriage and motherhood. Though she and her husband never planned to have a large family, they now have 9 children, the youngest of whom has special needs (Trisomy 18). The latter 1/3 of the book goes into specifics about the journey from Verity's diagnosis of Edwards Syndrome during the pregnancy to the first couple of years of her life. It speaks to practical concerns such as feeding tubes and other medical issues to the raw, unavoidable emotions ever-present in caring for a special needs child. In the midst of a cultural battle for the unborn, this soul-searching testimony stands as a treatise not only for the value of life itself, but also for the grace and power God gives in the midst of uncertainty.
